Poetry In Motion

All right, all right. Despite almost Design*Sponge quality pictures and a heartwarming message in my last post I know what you all want: You want kittens.

I read the comments, I got the emails and the text.  Even the kittens have been nosing about to see if they been featured in a new post yet.

Fine, fine, here's first impressions, less than 24 hours together.

I feel like a ring master in a 2 ring circus.  They dash, they splash in the Lab's bowl, they hang from the screen in the front door, they roll and they tumble, they snuggle and they snarl. They climb up and then down and run around and around and then fall down and go to sleep.

The Lab is terrified so I shut them in the bedroom today when I left for work.  They had their water and crunchies and cage and litter box and toys and air conditioning.

I returned home to find the hood without power, the Lab looking guilty as hell and the kittens parading around as if they owned the place.

I guess they do.

  God help us.

  1. Have you had time to kiss those little pink toes? Double trouble at Small but Charming! But this is pure jubilation of life. How I would love to pull a kitten off of the shades and nibble it's little ears. Nikka will get used to them. She's a stellar Lab!

The photo of them in the chair with the sheepskin is a framer. You could sell us all prints in your etsy shop that specializes in the flora and fauna of SBC.

  10. What precious little ones! I love kittens but just can't keep up with them. I always adopt adult cats. I hope the lab and the kittens become best buddies :)

  14. I know exactly what you mean. It took Thelma approximately 15 minutes to figure out she (all 1 1/2 lbs of her at the time) OWNED this place and everyone in it. Now at about 3 1/2 lbs she's won over everyone but Louise. And I had forgotten how ACTIVE kittens are. Holy crap that little girl is at either full bore or fast asleep. Nothing in between. She makes me tired.

  15. My girls are desperately trying to persuade me that it's time for a kitten. I've been resisting quite well - up until now. You forget just how cute they are!
