On The First Day Of December

I hear those sleigh bells ringaling.

Strapping myself in tightly for the magical mystery ride of global warming:)

And, of course, taking you with me. Wheeeeee....

  2. They look like sweep peas, but what would this brown fingered gardener know. Whatever they are, should you really have them flowering now?!!!!!

  3. tell me about it...we should be knee deep in snow by now! Everything's brown and crispy here but I did notice the lillies that I cut back are growing up green. Crazy!

Enjoy December and whatever nature gives us. :)

  4. I love the surprise of seeing a flower in bloom when unexpected.
I'm expecting sleigh bells so no surprise there.

  5. Didn't the East Coast just have a snow storm on Halloween? Weird weather for sure!

  6. Is that an annual sweet pea or perennial? We could have planted annual ones in October and had them blooming by now if we only knew it would be so warm. Might be fun to try next year.

    Happy December.

  8. And despite the hard freeze we had south of you here in NC, my daylilies have sent up green shoots and the antique rose gave me one last beautiful rose.

    So what happens next spring?

  9. I know what you mean. We have a tree across the street that blossoms in late February. It somehow has several scattered and confused blossoms right now. December 1st. So strange...

  10. Lovely sweet peas. I hope the roller coaster temperatures don't continue all winter. They really mess up the trees and plants.

Love the sound of the salad with feta and walnuts etc. and your thanksgiving feast looked amazing. And most of all WELL DONE and congratulations that you are still off the ciggies!!! FAB. xxx

  14. The weather is freaking me out. On the 30th November, i walked outside in the sunshine with only a sweater, but then it got much colder on the 1st so I was like, OK, it's December, winter is finally here, maybe it will snow. But now it's lashing rain out. No snow.
(and that's what the weather has been like where I live... in case you were wondering)

  15. You are a scream Jane, and obviously not a morning person like me...I'm loving your antics about getting fit and ship shape...something I'm trying to pysch (I don't think I spelt that right, but you know what I mean)..myself up to by joining the local gym...trouble is I hate excercise! Thought I might start with yoga and pilates and the odd aerobic routine...slowly...perhaps the walking (not running) machine and bike to warm up...but I know I will be so stiff and sore initially. Plus hubby, who is already a member (and jogs in the morning) (and is quite a smart a**e about it all) says the gym is full of posers...so here I am, facing another British Xmas, surrounded by mince pies and mulled wine...anyway, I'm off to catch up on your earlier blogs cause I've got to work out who the hell is the hai!!
