It's A Party Now: FITH May 21015

 Hello my lovelies.
 I am le tired.
In an attempt to distract myself from tomorrow's 4am wake up, I have been keeping busy.

Yoga, farmers market, gardening, visiting with neighbors, more gardening, freaking out, vacuuming, stressing out and a bit more gardening.

Now it's dark, only the cats and the very full moon are out.

 Outside it's summer, 78degrees at 8:40pm, inside it's spring.

The garden has offered up pink lily of the valley, a fragrant yellow iris and a stoneware cup of violas.

California flew in peonies. I flushed them out with a few stems of homegrown weigela and lambs ear .

The stoneware is from yesterdays flea market and the pitcher from a friend's visit to France.

What more can a woman want when she is surrounded by friends and flowers, stoneware and pottery?

Well, besides wanting the cats to come in?

A visit to and from you would make it just right.

Here's fingers crossed Mr. linky still works!

See you Monday?

xo J

Post Op Update: all went well, I'm home now, but I'm talking too much and incision keeps opening. Tine for a nap. When I come over only let me mutter out of the left side of my mouth!

xo

  1. Happiness in every picture. Such pretty flowers and loving arrangements. I think I like the bells and the shell and the Buddha best, but then that lovely long iris with the sweet birds, the charming violas and luscious peonies enchant me. Thank you for sharing them.

I hope your morning goes well. Thinking of you. xoxo

  3. Was going to give you my minor-flood-in-the-kitchen-no-floor excuse, but now i have a better one ... can't get photos to load from camera. Will try again when i get home from work.

Meanwhile, so glad you've started party days again! Your peony is to die for!

  5. Thinking of you too! Hope all goes well, and you are back home in your garden, surrounded by neighbors, in a flash. I love your little yellow violas. So sweet.

  6. Peonies. That's what I'm missing. I could live in a garden of peonies. I'm sending you my first hydrangea bloom along with good wishes and thoughts. ♥

  7. Lovely flowers, I have outdoors flowers brought in before they find their permanent home outside...hopefully away from the deer!

  8. Amelia beat me to it -- "peony envy!"
That's great. Good luck with the surgery & sending all good thoughts and prayers your way. We're just finishing up Lilac Heaven here; will have to find my lavender/ lilacs/Spring poem and send to you. Heal quickly and well, Mizz Jane!
    Peace be with you,
    Diane

  9. Lisa at Privilege alerted me to Flowers in the House, an idea I love. The flowers featured in the post I linked aren't technically in the house but rather on the porch. I'm hoping that since the doors have been open all weekend, flowers under the roof still qualify. If not, I'll try again another time. I understand you're recuperating, so take care! Best, Paula

  10. Glad to hear that you are home, and not surprised that you aren't vegging like you're supposed to. You've been on my mind today, as I send the best possible thoughts your way.

Do you know that there's a superb peony nursery in NJ called 'Peonies Envy'. Be careful to enunciate when you say that.

  11. What a very charming blog, indeed, and what a very clever idea! I've just been introduced to you by Lisa from Privilege after seeing her gorgeous arrangement of roses today.

I occasionally post a series on my site titled "What's Blooming Inside" and my latest post features a recent daffodil arrangement and I write about my love of this humble spring bloom.

I look forward to reading about your gardening adventures and for your love of flowers.

I've never seen pink Lily of the Valley, by the way. They are simply charming.

  12. I am cheating and using an instagram picture instead of the blog.

    Good luck tomorrow! xoxoxox

  13. So delighted to see FITH resurrected. How very May-like! I hope your continued recovery goes well. All these flowers and more ought to help. My flowers are all outside of the house these days, but I did "rescue" a couple of tulips where hubby was putting down pavers between the beds, so I'll be sure to take a pic of those when I get home. For now, I'm just a spectator.

    1. Well it's lovely to have you here in either capacity.

Though I wouldn't mind seeing a few of those tulips.....they're just a memory in Virginia now.

    1. Crazy California! so many of our beautiful flowers come from the West Coast. the color is always more intense, the blooms bigger and the stems longer.

      I'm moving.

  15. Well, I'm sorry I didn't bring that picnic - a hungry Man ate it.With help from some cats. But the flowers can be seen at my place.
    Off to visit others now...

  16. I am sorry Jane, I can't join you today, but I will visit other FITHs to see all the beautiful offerings for your party. Your pink lily of the valley are adorable. I have to plant some. My peonies are growing very well this year (just buds though, no flowers yet). Going to visit other blogs now. Have a great week Jane.

    1. Christa, you're welcome to a clump of mine. Those are very invasive little beauties, well after 14 years.

Enjoy the early summer we've got going on.

  17. I don't think I've ever seen pink lily of the valley, yellow iris, or yellow viola. Your are broadening my horizons. Thank you. I do know the pink peony and yours are exquisite! And you are home already--yes! Take it easy. xx

  18. Oh, Amelia and Diane.. I always have "peony envy"... I am turning green at the thought... But oh, so lovely! The little pinks are precious, the tall yellow so elegant, and a pot of gold, too! As always.. Just lovely, Jane! Thanks for the party... Hope you are feeling ok! Smiles.. Hope your week is filled with good things!

  19. Glad procedure is over for you. Folks, I had my 1st basal cell removed in 1979. However, several members of my family have had melanoma and a few of them are in heaven b/c of it. Please protect your body's largest organ -skin. Gail

  21. Hi: I just found your blog and this great Linky party: couldn't resist joining! Strictly speaking, these flowers are not actually in my house. But I do cut them and have in vases, but just not here in the blog post. Check out my Instagram and I have flowers there! But I will be back to join again, as I write a lot about gardening. Thanks so much!

  23. Hi
I'm new here I thought I. Would join in because I have flowers in the house all the time so it seemed appropriate. I love your lily of the valley - I have tried several times to grow it but never succeeded - I think my soil is just too free draining and my peony isn't flowering yet so yours have given me a little taster of what is to come. I'm off now to see everyone else's flowers.
