Oh What A Beautiful Day!

To the happiness of our neighborhood ( fervently expressed by our neighbors on either side) our late fall clean up has finally begun.

Between the African foxgloves and the Sambucus black lace we were nearly hidden from the street.  Though the bind weed had no problem finding us.

We chopped and pulled and dug and raked and weeded. 4 hours, 1 bed all done but the mulch. 6 to go.

We conquered the wilderness.

And today our muscles pay the price. Ouchy.

While we kept our noses to the grindstones, others patrolled the treetops, keeping us safe from the enemy.

(How many cats can you see in this picture)?

( Dismount appears to be difficult.)

We have beets, bok choy and red cabbages planted.  Perhaps this fall we will finally put in some new bulbs and scatter some seeds for spring blooms.

But honestly, this post was just an excuse to show the pictures of GG and the kittens.

And to ask how your Sunday went.

  1. Such sweet cats...I love seeing photos of them. My Sunday was LAZY...except for taking Frenchie to Labra-palooza which he enjoyed. Meeting up with 100 other labs of all shapes and sizes was his equivalent of a darn good day.

    1. I think that would be a pretty good day myself....wonder if they have one in our area.

Lab world, heaven on earth. Better bring a lot of treats along though.

  2. You never need an excuse to show them off. You have a captive, and loving audience here.

  3. p.s. Cat pictures are always cute, but yours really rise to the top. Also, in the way pets look like their owners or vice versa, they are kind of you and GG, right? Cute, fun to hang out with, mischievous... Now if you could only teach them to weed.

    1. You are too sweet.....the big difference is both GG and the kittens have better hair then I do.

If they thought weeding was a big no no I bet they'd do it on their own.

  12. We did much the same, pruned, tidied, swept, stacked, filled a very large sack of garden waste, worked hard, and does any of it show in the garden? No.....
