Beside herself with excitement she reports "We're going to someone else's house for brunch".
No cooking, no cleaning ( well except of selves), no shopping, no fluffing.
Just popping a narcissus bulb in a jar with a bit of moss, a few tiny pine cones, a bit of raffia and a ornament around the neck.
Wrap a scarf around my own neck, a slick of lipstick and we're off!
That's what Christmas is all about!
Twinkle twinkle little jar. Hope you get some bacon with your brunch!
ReplyDeleteThat is the perfect homemade gift! I am going to put together some of those for the store next year. (I have never been a planner--but now I'm thinking a year ahead.) Please tell your Redskins to go out to brunch too. Have fun, and when you get home I hope you can take a nap or read a book or do something fun/relaxing/indulgent.
ReplyDeleteI would love this if someone brought it to my house. As good as any gift when the chia pets are sold out.
ReplyDeleteDid somebody say bacon?
I think that is the perfect gift.....re-gifted each year after as the bulbs bloom. A brunch is one of my favorite invites. Enjoy yourselves.
ReplyDeleteShelly, I so know you hope no one ever eats bacon again BUT thanks for the kind carnivore thought:)
ReplyDeleteJen, Our Redskins (deadskins) have been out to brunch for so long this season I don't think they can find a playing field unless it's covered with maple syrup. That said.....
Steve, Shelly's pushing da pig today. Our host is Argentinian, I'm betting on some kind of meat:)
Hi Jane
ReplyDeleteYour gift is beautiful and will be treasured.
For the past two evenings we have done like you, dined in style, at friend's homes. I just love it.
A long leisurely bath, getting dressed up and not a care in the world.

Great hostess gift. made need to steal that, too. Love the old fashioned-looking ornament.
ReplyDeleteNarcissus are the best. gift. ever. And you make them look especially sweet! : )
ReplyDeleteThe perfect gift! Aren't you inventive?
ReplyDeleteConsider yourself invited over for brunch!
ReplyDeletenice gift! Would you like to come to have a brunch at Spain?
ReplyDeleteCome and visit me! I promise I won't make you do anything but loaf around and eat.....
ReplyDeleteSimply Perfect! The gift, the idea, the invite. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteJane,
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely gift!
Proud of you for not smoking.

This would be the perfect gift for me. Simple beauty! The pictures below are lovely. A continued congratulations on being smoke free. Can you hear me cheering? I hope your Sunday was a restful one. Bonnie
ReplyDeleteThe best gift ever...love the ornaments adorning the jars.
ReplyDeleteHelp Jane!! Is it too late to plant some? I'm coveting yours. How cool to use pine cones!! Never, ever would have thought to do that.
ReplyDeleteCamille
No Csamille, you can plant them for the new year! Any bulbs you would fund now should have some green already growing.
