Satellite Of Love

Work continues to run on and on like a never ending reality show.  In the midst of the madness, friends drop by to visit, bearing cookies and babies.  Clients come by with vases to be filled and presents for all.  Drivers get lost, coffees get drunk and we get sillier and sillier.

Two more wakes then we can sleep.

I mean we can celebrate Christmas and then we can sleep.

Fresh from the bath and soon to bed. Listening to the songs of Mozart sung by Barbara Bonney.  Quietly celebrating the news that GG made the Deans List.  Now that's a Christmas present.

We'll spend the night of the 24th with Tini and Nirmal ( my computer is underlining both these names) eating seafood risotto and watching the dogs careen about.  Al la family tradition Tini will have candles on her tree. Both beautiful and terrifying when lit.

I didn't know so many of you this time last year and now here I sit filled with details of your upcoming holidays.  Who is coming, what you will eat, how your houses are decorated for Christmas and whether or not you're dreaming of a white Christmas.

                                                           Me?  I'm always dreaming.

  4. Two more wakes til you can sleep - that is a classic Ms Flower Jane and I love it! We are having a white Christmas over here in Ireland and to be frank it is not quite what it is cracked up to be. House bound, cabin fever setting in and running low on stocks! But that all aside Santa is coming to our house so happy days! Keep on dreaming, and writing too as I love your posts. Happy Christmas to you and yours..Sinead x

  5. Did Sinead peg it our what? "it's not quite what it's cracked up to be". That so totally captures how I feel about snow!

You will make it thru these last two days, Friend, and then have a couple of days to rest. Congrats to GG - knew she could do it! It's been a good year, and lots of reasons to celebrate, so do. Merry Christmas!

  12. Have a lovely, homely, well-earned Christmas break; here, not being overly fond of turkey, we shall be eating organic, outdoor-reared pork with crackling and all the trimmings, then we shall watch the Queen on tv, and complain for hours about how full we still feel......

    All the best for 2011!
