Fire Island, late 1990's, early 2000?
Tony and I.
Not much of a back story here, just another summer vacation with Larry.
Reading, grilling, laughing, the occasional acrimonious game of Scrabble.
There would have been raucous lunches on the deck, naps on the beach afterwards.
I would have been the first one up in the morning and armed with an iced coffee I'd patrol the beach, eyes downcast looking for beach glass.
Larry and Tony would go for a run and I'd do Yoga by waters edge.
Dinner was always eaten by candlelight.
Sleep came early.
All this loveliness aside, the reason I selected this picture?
It's the only time in my life, on film or in person where I appear to have breasts.
No wonder I'm smirking. Document that!
Bit of a flap here...can I come back in my morning/your late night?
ReplyDeleteYou can come back whenever you find the time....there is no end to Mr. Linky.
DeleteWait till you reach middle age - bosoms you never knew you were capable of just appear! (and aren't always welcome either......)
ReplyDeleteInteresting post; what a colourful life you've led, Jane. Great idea, this new game! Off to do my own post now, and so are the cats....
Um pretty sure I hit that age with a bang. Didn't you hear it?
DeleteLove your post. I think you led the interesting life.
I just went to the beach a lot.
Such a story from one photo! Candlelight, beach glass, and bosoms. What a story!
ReplyDeleteAlmost heaving!
DeleteI do believe you invented iced coffee. Great picture busty lady. Sounds like an idyllic time but Fire Island will do that.
ReplyDeleteI remember my first one, in Montclair, at an old lunchroom. As I watched the milk flow prettily over the ice into the coffee I was enchanted. And quickly addicted.
Deletemy longest relationship me thinks...
Love your mischievous pretty smile!
ReplyDeleteYou're killing me with the Fire Island memories! An easy walk from bay to ocean, no cars, red wagons...(obviously I've forgotten the mosquitoes and deer ticks).
But apparently you've always had cheekbones;).
ReplyDeleteIt seems like I'll never have Paris, but yes, cheelbones :-)
DeleteOr maybe the correct word is cheekbones. Pays to wear your glasses...
DeleteLook at you. Small AND charming.
ReplyDeleteAnd snarky?
DeleteLooking good, Girl, but Rachel is correct ... be careful what you wish for! Sorry, I'm so late to the party.
ReplyDeleteHa, you were early to the party. You should know I always have your back.
DeleteThanks for hooking me up earlier. Obviously, I didn't look closely enough. This is fun!
ReplyDeleteLooking fine babe!
ReplyDeleteAs were you!
DeleteAnd they are lovely. Those Fire Island pics are filled with the most amazing light.
ReplyDeleteFire Island is the other land of enchantment.
DeleteWonderful memories, handsome couple, good friends... Décolletage definitely looking fine... Beach worthy!
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you ;-))
DeleteWhat a wonderful idea this was, Jane. Husband smiled at the photo and said the mowing is all mine now. Since I was very experienced.
ReplyDeleteOh oh, now you're in trouble!
DeleteThis was so fun. Had a tough time choosing only one photo so I may keep it up on my blog once a week or something.
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely in your red bikini. Your comment reminded me that our Thanksgiving dinner conversation somehow always gets around to my cousin's lack of boobage.
Well thank god I didn't celebrate the holidays with your family!
DeleteYou look great in your bikini :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute and sassy photo! I love this link-up idea! :)
ReplyDeleteI love it too. It's def a keeper.
DeleteI am visiting via Southern Fascinations.
ReplyDeleteLove the concept of your link party and love your story. Having breasts is never an issue with me. My daughter frequently comments that she is so glad she did not inherit my breasts.
Hi, love this idea.
ReplyDeleteoh i missed this. what a good idea jane.
ReplyDeleteyou are such a hottie!!!!
How fabulous are you!!
ReplyDeleteIt is so funny, how the late 90's look so late 80's. Also in the movies!
ReplyDeleteMy link is a photo that dates back to 1975. I am sitting on the sofa, fidlding with mummy's autoharp. We still own the sofa. Now my feet reach the ground :-)
