One Moment In Time

I'm at a loss what to do with my morning.

My entire garden is mulched.  And for one brief moment in time, weeded.

Insert bells ringing, children singing choruses of Hallelujah.

Superman asked what I would do with my time now.

Like it's a forever thing.

He mulched then edged the front and side beds last week, GG came over on Sunday and after a trip to my Tiffany's, Home Depot, finished off the potting area , then mulched the back bed and the berm.

Now I have flagstones to stand on, pots to plant in ( momentarily holding grasses that will go on the berm, and a coating of mulch.

You can run but you can't hide. Ask anyone who's ever been in a long term relationship with me.

Membership has it's rewards and it's responsibilities.

Today's cuteness brought to you by Lucy.

  1. Cooler than normal temps + ample rain and damp soil = almost delightful conditions for weeding and other garden work. It thrills me to hear that you are, for the moment, at a stage where you can enjoy your efforts.

  2. Potting bench and Lucy go well together. Yes, those weeds will be back, but meanwhile a stack of library books and some lemonade?

  3. I've been deadheading the roses and weeding this weekend. Things in the garden are putting on a good show despite how dry the weather has been. I love your potting area.
I should take a picture of mine but right now it is being used as a tool bench by Mr HB as he continues to restore our sun deck.
Tiffany's and Home Depot in the same sentence and on the same day Wow!

  4. There's my blond girlfriend.

Hey, when you stop by to pick up the kitchen, you can pull some crabgrass while we load it up. I'll even throw in a few fancy terracotta pots I found in the weeds.

  11. Hello Jane

It sounds like you can now relax for the remainder of the summer and just sit and watch the grass grow.

  13. what to do with that bag of"stuff" If you have a good, active compost bin, add it to that. If your heap is only small/new, don't bung it all in at once. But, as long as your heap is generating enough heat it should be fine.
If in doubt, just add a small portion per week. Ask me how i know!
