I'm at a loss what to do with my morning.
My entire garden is mulched. And for one brief moment in time, weeded.
Insert bells ringing, children singing choruses of Hallelujah.
Superman asked what I would do with my time now.
Like it's a forever thing.
He mulched then edged the front and side beds last week, GG came over on Sunday and after a trip to my Tiffany's, Home Depot, finished off the potting area , then mulched the back bed and the berm.
Now I have flagstones to stand on, pots to plant in ( momentarily holding grasses that will go on the berm, and a coating of mulch.

Today's cuteness brought to you by Lucy.
Cooler than normal temps + ample rain and damp soil = almost delightful conditions for weeding and other garden work. It thrills me to hear that you are, for the moment, at a stage where you can enjoy your efforts.
ReplyDeleteThank you, it's a fleeting miracle. I'm relishing every moment.
DeletePotting bench and Lucy go well together. Yes, those weeds will be back, but meanwhile a stack of library books and some lemonade?
ReplyDeleteI'm being rather lazy and it's all your fault:-)
DeleteI've been deadheading the roses and weeding this weekend. Things in the garden are putting on a good show despite how dry the weather has been. I love your potting area.
ReplyDeleteI should take a picture of mine but right now it is being used as a tool bench by Mr HB as he continues to restore our sun deck.
Tiffany's and Home Depot in the same sentence and on the same day Wow!
Who would have thunk it? And they said it couldn't be done.
DeleteThere's my blond girlfriend.
ReplyDeleteHey, when you stop by to pick up the kitchen, you can pull some crabgrass while we load it up. I'll even throw in a few fancy terracotta pots I found in the weeds.
Expect me with my garden gloves on. Maybe you'll throw a biscuit on the grill for me?
DeleteI love your potting bench and everything looks so organized and neat, wow! Is there anything Superman doesn't do? Sleep maybe.
ReplyDeleteWell, I have a an overgrown, weedy, untidy mess...what time should I expect you?
ReplyDelete'you can run but you can't hide'!!! We knew that about you when your ex came to dinner with his family!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're amazing.

DeleteDang it, Jane, ixnay the Iraclemay Rowgay... before you-know-who sees it.
ReplyDeleteShe saw it in the last post and if she sees it still there she'll know fer sure i didn't use it to plant up those pots...
Deletewhat do i do with it? put it in the trash?
Oh I do wish everything here was mulched and weeded. You lucky girl! Give Lucy a head scratch.
ReplyDeleteYou had a freehalf day and gardening gloves that fit? And, you weren't in my back yard ... why?
ReplyDeleteSounds like the berm is coming along ... photos soon? Xoxo
Hello Jane
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you can now relax for the remainder of the summer and just sit and watch the grass grow.
That thing where you get an ex to come do work? Market that and you're set for life:).
ReplyDeletewhat to do with that bag of"stuff" If you have a good, active compost bin, add it to that. If your heap is only small/new, don't bung it all in at once. But, as long as your heap is generating enough heat it should be fine.
ReplyDeleteIf in doubt, just add a small portion per week. Ask me how i know!
Time to crawl into a comfortable chair with a good book and read until you fall asleep.
ReplyDeleteLucy looks adorable Jane! What a sweet cat!
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Madelief x
