Collect Call From Ms. Crankypants

Talk about Mercury in retrograde.  Or how a Virgo's birthday week comes to a close.....

I wrote a post, it didn't post.

My phone has claimed it has no service though I've been able to use computers, both at home and at work today.

I'm afraid I've missed my chance to meet Becca.

I've been slightly at odds with my coworkers, at least in my head.
And the guy at the hardware store asked me if the young girl I ride around with is my daughter.  Happy Birthday to me.

 Just call me Ms. Crankypants.

And then accept an invitation to join in Monday for a party in the house.  With flowers and such. FITH, we call it.

For those of you who are new I'll give you a gander at July's.

Nice, no?

So all you have to do is put some flowers or leaves or berries in a vase. If you live in a climate where spring is in the works maybe show us a pot of blooming bulbs.

Then you come over and link up.  We go to your house, you come to ours.

It's a global flower chain.

World peace, one blossom at a time.

And the birthday?  Wonderful. The best yet.  Except for the hardware incident ;-)

RSVP.

xo Jane

  3. I used to call this 'wrestling with physics'. It's also retrograde Mercury, screwed up biorrhythms. and just plain tactless people.
Zumba the night away and swivel those hips! I'm up for FITH ... and Happy Birthday, dear Jane.

  4. A very happy birthday, Jane, and forget the hardware guy. Probably too young to recognize class. See you on Monday!

  5. I often have really had birthday weeks too so can relate that hardware store incident is just plain wrong. If you didn't have a new trainer, I'd recommend an extra piece of cake.

Hope you have a happy birthday!

  10. Could you wreak terrible revenge by not purchasing any more hardware? That would also free up some money for a new hat, and a new birthday hat would be cheering, no?

  11. My husband and I had dinner last weekend with friends who are younger than we are. The next morning, I went to the fridge to have the remains of my shrimp and grits for breakfast, and I found that our leftover containers had been tagged "Mom" and "Dad". Let's just say, I know how you feel.

  12. I was recently at a wedding standing beside my 54 year old friend. A woman asked me is she was my daughter!. Now this 54 year old looks her age, which made me think I would have to look at least 60....I was horrified. Then there was the lawn guy who thought my husband was my son.....it's starting to bother me....

  14. Happy birthday Jane! Glad it was a lovely one.

Some comments are best blown out of the water in gales of laughter once the shock has worn off - last year someone asked when the baby was due...ermm, no baby!! ;)

  15. Happy Birthday Jane! Been away and just caught up with all your posts. Monticello looks beautiful and Mr. Baby will soon be Mr. Toddler. Some people don't know when to shut up, foot in mouth disease is rampant. Some guy asked me last year if I was my 3 year old nephews grandmother--this is a guy who was about ten years younger than me but looked ten years older, at least, oy! See you tomorrow.

  16. Happy Birthday from a new follower. We were at my son and DIL's housewarming party this weekend where all attending were 30 and under. My husband's grey hair and my "mature" looks didn't keep me from going around and introducing ourselves as the obvious "rents". Good thing I did, maybe they would have thought we were the "grands" if I didn't. Hardware guys know nothing. Love your blog. Ann
