1:15AM return home from raucous birthday/dinner party, wash face, sleep.
8:40AM wake up, stumble into kitchen, ice some espresso, take picture of flowers sitting on side of sink, hope they get into vases at some point.
9:00AM to 11:45AM..walk dog, eat breakfast, strip bed, run vacuum, plead with GG to hurry up for we have massage appointments at 12:00.
12:00 ahhhhhh
1:00PM hit up Trader Joes, library and Giant. Rush home unload groceries, eat lunch, stick a gloriousa lily and some curly willow in a vase. Get ready for VIP guest.
3:00PM VIP guest arrives, much hugging, oohing, cooing and ahhing. Fill two more vases with hellobores, jasmine and blooming branches. Take a picture.
Take another picture with special guest.
Put new mini phalenopsis orchid in loo; put baby in Lab bed for caretaking.
Was going to put flowers in bedroom but who needs them?
5:00 PM Everybody took a nap, only one person snored. Or so GG says. Humph!
7:00 PM parents returned bearing carry out. They handed over dinner, we reluctantly handed over bebe .
9:30 Took a few more pctures of muscari and plants, removed several cactus thorns from thumbs and wrote this post.
Flowers and baby in the house. Could there be a better Sunday?
cutest baby ever. the flowers are nice too. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous VIP guest looks somewhat surprised to be held up next to that gorgeous hellebore. Do you have a secret to stop these from wilting? There must be a trick for them to stand like this. Mine always wilt all over the show. So pleased to join in with your flowers in the house today Jane.
ReplyDeleteAmanda xx
Quite right - get gorgeous baby fully familiarised with smell of dog. The Lovely Son smelled of labrador throughout his toddler years, and seemed to want to live in her basket with her.
ReplyDeleteForgot it was this Monday...sorry!!
ReplyDeleteLove the caretaker when UK daughter was a baby our deerhound was her caretaker never let her alone!!
I didnt really look at the stems - sorry!! The VIP and the lab got my eye. Sinead x
ReplyDeleteNever work with children or animals??! It is all we are goggling at. I went back a second time to look at the flowers! My hellebores never make it past a couple of days, do you have a crafty tip to pass on? xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful afternoon! Bebe is growing so fast.
ReplyDeleteGloriosa is, well, glorious!
I love that Lily....and the baby is scrumptious.
ReplyDeleteoops...my previous post went up. I clicked enter and realized my last Flowers in the house went up. Sorry!

Crap...I forgot.
ReplyDeleteSticking baby pics in the middle of the "Flowers in the House" post is guilding the lily.
Oh just lovely...everyone and everything! I love your picture in the first pic too. A perfect way to spend a Sunday I should think! Thanks for hosting, love Linda x
ReplyDeleteLove the flowers, love the bebe, but what I'd really like right now is the massage.
ReplyDeleteAdorable baby and lovely flowers. I didn't manage anything so impressive as your exquisite arrangements -- sure, try to pass them off as something you threw together, and I'll believe you, too, which makes it all the more impressive -- but I do have some sweet sunny primulas gracing the buffet. Come see when you get the chance.
ReplyDeleteOh, and the lab bed. Yes. Excellent. When my babies were babies, our cats would sometimes groom them. I'd find Martin in his crib with the cat curled up by his head, and the boy's hair would be a bit wet right at the top, where it stuck up rather curiously. It's sweet how those pets do what they can to help us out.
ReplyDeleteWell, who is the prettiest flower in the house? Besides Nika, that is.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite the day you had there. Nice flowers, nothing compared to the VIP and Nika though!
ReplyDeletePoo, miss this one! Your gloriosa is glorious! So good of you to watch the bebe.
ReplyDeleteCamille
Loved the lab bed! Will send you a photo of a painting I did of my youngest daughter is just such a bed. Flowers were wonderful as well, when I could drag myself away from bebe.
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers. The VIP seems to be growing very fast.
ReplyDeleteSounds to me like a perfect day. And that baby, cute or what!!
ReplyDeletenow how do you compete with a cute baby? you are not playing fair girl. actually i got conned into working on my day off today, totally unfair too. missed the flowers in the house but i'm off to go see everyone's pictures.

Those gorgeous blooms up top, I believe gloriousa lily -- beautiful. But not as beautiful as your sweet little VIP.
ReplyDeleteNo better Sunday possible. But you and GG, no plans for one of your own? Of course, none of my business, but take it as a nosy aunt:).
ReplyDeleteAaahh so cute!
ReplyDeleteAs usual squeezing in, hopefully just before you wake up with the flowers in the house! x
Thank you for the kind comment on my blog. What an adorable baby.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea! Would love to be in! Hellebores...mmmm, mmm, good.

Hi
ReplyDeleteI am new to this and thought I would throw my flowers in the ring, so to speak. Look forward to doing this in the next months as our flowers come along. Denise
Thank you for your lovely comment!
